Raised in CaptivityPSU Theater: Raised In Captivity
Nicky Silver makes us laugh at the horrors of everyday life as he tells the story of of two estranged siblings who reunite after their mother is killed by an errant shower head. Sebastion Bliss is a young man who has been an emotional celibate ever since his lover died eleven years ago. Following the funeral of his mother, Sebastian finds himself thrust into situations with other humans against his will. His twin sister Bernadette is completely unstable, her husband Kip is a dentist who hates teeth, his psychiatrist Hillary is a self-mutilating basket case, and his only friend is Dylan, a convicted murderer whom he writes letters to and has never seen. An imaginative story of characters trying to break free of their emotional prisons...in a rather unconventional manner.    Mature audiences

Oklahoma!

PSU Theater: Oklahoma!
Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical set in the western territories of the U.S. just after the turn of the century, focuses on  the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys.  This new land provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. Songs such as "Oh What A Beautiful Morniin,"  "People Will Say We're in Love", "Kansas City" and the rousing finale "Oklahoma."

PSU Theater: Company
Company follows five married, once married, or soon to be married couples and their mutual friend, Robert, a 35 year-old bachelor who has been unable to connect in a long-term relationship. The relationships are presented in a series of vignettes, primarily through Bobby's eyes, so that we see the less than ideal aspects of commitment. However, it is obvious to the audience that the committed are happy. Eventually, Bobby learns that while relationships aren't perfect, they are a necessary part of "Being Alive." Includes the songs "Getting Married Today," "The Ladies Who Lunch," and "Being Alive."
