Bobbie Hoffmann is known as a composer, arranger, conductor, pianist/organist and musical director throughout New England and beyond. Her versatility and knowledge of many musical styles has brought her together with a wide range of performers of popular and classical music through the years.
She is the Composer in Residence and Director of Music at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church in Newton, MA, where she conducts two choirs. The church's Tridentine High Mass Choir was featured on New England cable, local TV, and Catholic TV. This Latin Tridentine Choir sings the full heritage of Catholic sacred music from Gregorian Chant to Classical choral music every Sunday at noon. The choir has performed at various events, concerts, and churches in the New England area. Bobbie studied Choral Conducting at the Yale Institute of Sacred music in the Artist Diploma program. She previously served as the music/choir director at Marsh Chapel in Boston University.
As an orchestral arranger, she has worked with Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra for their Spring Concert Series “Tony Bennett” concert, and with many other orchestras throughout the U.S. for their pop concerts as well. She also has extensive experience accompanying for many world renowned vocalists and groups in various styles.
She was an assistant music director and orchestra conductor for the original Broadway casting Jesus Christ Superstar Asia tour. In recent years, she has been working as a music director with professional theaters such as 37 Arts Theatre, the Players Theatre, Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street, Westchester Theatre in New York City, North Shore Music Theatre, Fiddlehead Theatre Company, New Opera and Musical Theatre Initiative, Welsh Theatre, Wang Theatre in Boston area and schools such as Harvard University, MIT, Boston University, Wellesley College, Alexander Theater, Cambridge Adult Education Center and more.
In the past ten years, she has composed and arranged music for projects that include Sony Nintendo Games, Films, and TV as well as commercial music for General Motors and Hershey's Chocolate.
