
Jenny Stokes received both her Masters and Bachelors degrees in Bassoon Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. Her teachers have included Boston Symphony Orchestra bassoonists Richard Svoboda and Gregg Henegar. Jenny recently moved from Chicago where she played in the bassoon section of the renowned Chicago Civic Orchestra. She currently plays principal bassoon with Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra. Jenny was the winner of the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition and the New England Conservatory Mozart Competition, each resulting in solo performances. Her woodwind quintet, Bento, played the world premiere of Matthew McConnell's Wind Quintet, as well as performing the challenging Quintet by John Harbison under his tutelage. Jenny has performed with many renowned ensembles, enabling her to work with celebrated conductors. As a performer she has traveled to Venezuela, Brazil, Poland, Czech Republic, and Germany.
