Contemporary Piano Festival

The Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance will host the 11th Annual Contemporary Piano Festival on March 7, 2009. The festival is open to pianists currently in the 9th to 12th grades. Teachers and parents are welcome to attend all events.

Students, teachers and parents will be able to hear numerous works composed during the 20th and 21st century performed throughout the day. The tentative schedule for the day includes a competition in the morning, followed by sessions in 20th-21st century composition and piano techniques, a piano master class, and a final concert of 20th-21st century piano music performed by the winners of the morning competition and PSU piano and composition students.

Students wishing to participate in the competition and/or master class must return the application prior to February 6, 2009. All other students and teachers should return the application prior to February 27, 2009. Enrollment is limited in the competition and master class. Submission of early applications is encouraged.
