Auditions for ETC 2009 Production, The Wizard of Oz

PLYMOUTH,N.H.—The Educational Theatre Collaborative (ETC) announces auditions for its 15th season production, The Wizard of Oz. ETC was the 2006 winner of the HIPPO Award for best production in Concord for Beauty and the Beast.

Auditions for this popular musical will be held:

Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2–3:30 p.m. children grades 3-5; 4–5:30 p.m. for students grades 6–8 and 6:30–9:30 p.m. for high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members. Sunday is the preferred time for all children.

Monday, Nov. 3 from 5–6:30 p.m. for students grades 3–8; and 7–10 p.m. for high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members.

Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 5–6:30 p.m. for students grades 3–8; 7–10 p.m.for high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members.

All auditions take place at the PSU Silver Center for the Arts on Main Street in Plymouth.

Children in grades 3-8 will be auditioned in groups and do not need to prepare anything in advance, or schedule an individual time.

High school and university students, faculty, staff and community members must come prepared with a song and schedule an audition time by calling Brenda Gleich at (603) 535-2803.

Everyone should wear loose, comfortable clothes and shoes for the auditions.

Rehearsals will take place in January, and performance dates for ETC’s production of The Wizard of Oz are January 21-25, 2009 in Plymouth and February 6 and 7 at Concord’s Capitol Center for the Arts.

ETC, a collaborative venture of the Plymouth State University College of Graduate Studies, Plymouth Elementary School and Friends of the Arts, welcomes and encourages people of all ages, both experienced and non-experienced, to audition for this community-wide theatre project.
