PLYMOUTH, N.H. — Margot Johnson, a Boston-based graphic designer, is the fall visiting artist in the Department of Art at Plymouth State University.

She will present “Integrated Design and Marketing” from 4–5 p.m. Wed., October 28, at the Draper and Maynard Building, room 213.

Johnson, who specializes in integrated marketing, creative process, brand identity and entrepreneurship; has worked with CBS, Microsoft, Apple, Sun, Vistaprint, American Airlines, Wal-Mart, General Motors and Orbitz.

She has received national awards from The Wall Street Journal, American Center for Design, Broadcast Design Association and more; and serves on several boards of directors, including the American Center for Design.

The visiting artist initiative at Plymouth State University has expanded the tradition of bringing fine artists and graphic designers to the University during the academic year, and for extended summer workshops at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Each visit includes a session for the public.

Cynthia Vascak, chair of the PSU Department of Art, described the goal of the program as cultivating relationships between artists and designers of national repute or with specialized areas of expertise, within the PSU and regional communities.

“The emphasis is to build a network of professional relationships for our students that will enrich our programs, curriculum and mission, and provide deepened cultural access to the regional community,” Vascak said.
