ECAC/LEC Honor Roll

February 16th, 1998 by Adam

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – It’s another week, and another weekly honor for the point guard on the Plymouth State College men’s basketball team.

Junior Adam DeChristopher (Brockton, MA) was again selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Little East Conference Weekly Honor Rolls. He played a key role in the Panthers winning all three games last week, improving to 17-5 overall and inching closer to an LEC regular season title. He has earned ECAC and LEC honors four times this season.

A 6’1″ point guard, DeChristopher averaged 20.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals as PSC defeated Southern Maine, University of New England, and UMass Boston. He shot 46.7 percent from the floor (21-of-45), 46.2 percent from three-point range (12-of-26) and 80.0 percent from the line (8-of-10). He nailed the game-winning three-pointer in a 59-57 win over Southern Maine, and scored PSC’s last 11 points in a 76-75 come-from-behind win over UMass Boston.

The Panthers, winners of four straight and 10 of their last 11, take a 17-5 overall record into the final week of the regular season. PSC, 11-1 in the LEC, can clinch a share of the regular season title and the top seed in the LEC Tournament with a win Tuesday (Feb. 17) vs. Keene State (7:30 p.m.). Plymouth State then wraps up the regular season Saturday (Feb. 21) at Eastern Connecticut (2:00 p.m.) in Willimantic, CT.

Coach Paul Hogan’s squad was ranked eighth last week in the NCAA Division III Northeast Region Poll.
