Plymouth State University Move-In August 30

August 27th, 2009 by Adam

PLYMOUTH, N.H.-The busiest day of the year for Plymouth State University and surrounding communities arrives Sunday, Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nearly 2,300 students will converge on campus, with the busiest time from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Traffic in the towns of Plymouth and Holderness will be heaviest at this time. All cars will be allowed 15 minutes to unload near the residence halls and then will be directed to park in the Facilities Lot or the PE Center Visitor Parking Lot both located on Route 175A across the bridge.

Move-In will occur regardless of the weather conditions, unless there is a public safety issue. In addition to Sunday, students can move into residence halls on both Monday, Aug. 31, and Tuesday, Sept. 1, if weather conditions impact their travel plans Sunday.

Move In
PSU students and their families carry belongings into residence halls during the University’s annual Move In

Traditionally held on the Sunday before the start of classes, PSU Move-In allows students to quickly and efficiently fill the University’s eight residence halls with the help of staff, students and families. University, Holderness and Plymouth police, residence hall staff and building workers will also help incoming students park, unload and move their belongings. PSU athletic teams will also pitch in to help their classmates move in and get settled.

By Sunday evening, it is expected that more than 80 percent of the students will have been moved in to their on-campus residences. The remainder will arrive on Monday and Tuesday before classes start Wednesday, September 2.

A campus map with the preferred routes of travel for those moving students is available online at: Move In map
