While statistics on the incidence/prevalence of students diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome attending universities are not clear, anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that the numbers are rapidly rising. Recently, one of our clients/students brought to our attention the video, “Understanding Asperger’s Syndrome: A College Professor’s Guide.” This video is geared towards faculty and instructors, while a second video, “In My Mind,” is intended to help individuals to better understand the world through the lens of a person experiencing Asperger’s. It is our hope that the videos will support your efforts to better understand and serve this population of students.
If you need additional support/consultation, please don’t hesitate to contact a staff member at The Counseling and Human Relations Center at (603) 535-2461.
