Biographical data:
Melissa was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to New Hampshire in 1995. She has been employed in the travel industry for 27 years. Desiring to support her community, Melissa returned to school in 2001 to become a counselor. She was employed as a case manager and clinician at Genesis Behavioral Health from 2006 until 2010. Melissa’s approach to treatment includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the treatment of trauma, including EMDR. She has a special interest in meditation and yoga as healing tools. Melissa’s approach to human health comes from an integrative perspective, combining the aspects of mind, body, and spirit in creating and leading an authentic, purposeful life.
Melissa enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, practicing joga, reading, golfing, and spending time with and volunteering for animal causes.
Professor Irene Cucina has been teaching in the Department of Health and Human Performance since 1998.
