PSU Merit Awards

PSU Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admission. Notification of eligibility is sent in the Admission’s Acceptance letter. The number of awards vary each year.  All merit awards are evenly split between fall and spring semesters and in most cases are renewable for up to three additional years (total of eight full-time fall and spring semesters.)  Award consideration is based on several things, including: class rank, SAT scores, strength of academic programs and high school activities. No additional application is required.

• Presidential Scholarship-  $3,000 to $7,000
  Awards are made to accepted first-year, incoming students who meet PSU established academic guidelines.  Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.25 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.
• Top Scholarship- $2,500 to $5,000
  Awards are made to accepted first-year, incoming New Hampshire students in the top 15 percent of their graduating high school class who meet PSU admission requirements. Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.
• Deans’ Scholarship – $3,000
  Awards are made to accepted first-year incoming New Hampshire students who meet PSU established academic guidelines.  Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.
• Aspire Scholarship – $ 2,000
  Awards are made to accepted first-year incoming New Hampshire students who meet PSU established academic guidelines.  Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.
• PSU Scholarship- $ 2,500 to $6,250
  Awards are made to accepted first-year, non-resident incoming students who meet PSU established academic guidelines.  Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.
• PSU Transfer Scholarship- $3,500 to $4,000
  Awardsare made to accepted transferring students with more than 24 hours of transfer credit and a transfer GPA of 3.25.  Awards are renewable for two additional years (total of six full-time fall and spring semesters) if a cumulative 3.25 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled full-time.  Students must be attending the PSU campus. 
• STEM Scholarship – $ 1,000
  Awards are made to accepted first-year incoming New Hampshire students who have declared their major in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Biology, Environmental Science & Policy, Information Technology, Mathematics or Meteorology. Awards are renewable for three additional years if a cumulative 3.25 GPA is maintained and the student remains enrolled as a full-time STEM major.
