Operations- HUB Sound Tech

Position Title:            HUB Sound Tech Crew

Responsible To:        Associate Director of the Hartman Union

Qualifications:         

Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn the operation of technical audio equipment & lights.  Preferential hiring for music tech majors, but we will train those familiar with sound equipment via other areas (music & theater, member of a band, etc.).  Impeccable communication skills and patience are REQUIREDMust have flexible schedules and be able to lift heavy equipment with ease.

Hours:                       

This position works Monday-Friday evenings and some weekend shows.  Schedules are prepared on semesterly basis but are updated regularly based on added events/shows.  Hours are dependent upon number of shows, level of tech required for each show and number of staff needed to provide a quality show.  Work study is NOT required.

Duties:                                 

Provide all aspects & levels of technical services for bands, comedians, etc. who schedule shows in the HUB.  It is essential that we provide top quality sound production.  Must be quick problem-solvers and troubleshoot equipment during shows, make equipment work with artist requests, etc.  Communicate direclty with Associate Director and Administrative Assistant regarding sound tech riders & needs for upcoming shows.  Arrive prior toeach show, set up, operate show, break down.  

 Attend all meetings as assigned.  Must arrive on time.  Tardiness and absences are not tolerated in this position.
