MyDrive

MyDrive is network space that is provided to you, as a student, faculty and staff for the storage of your files and email messages.

Access to your MyDrive (aka M Drive) is available from the myPlymouth portal. The MyDrive link allows you to upload and download files to your MyDrive from on or off campus. The link is located in the Go Sidebar under the Campus section of My Services.

Log In

  1. Log in to MyPlymouth
  2. Locate the Go Sidebar
  3. Find the Campus section of My Services
  4. Click on the My Drive link
  5. A complete list of all the files and folders in your My drive appears.

Downloading Files

  1. To download a file from your My Drive to your computer, click on the file name.
  2. A File Download dialog box appears.
  3. Click on “Save” and then navigate to the location on your computer where you would like to save the file.
  4. Select Save when you’re ready.

Uploading/Adding Files

  1. To upload a file from your computer to the My Drive, locate the destination folder in your M: drive where you’d like the file to be added.
  2. Click on the title of that folder to open it.
  3. Click the arrow in the drop-down box to view the menu.
  4. Click on “New File (upload)” and then click OK.
  5. Click on the “Browse” button that is located in the upper-left corner of the window.
  6. Locate the file that you want to add, click on its title and click “Open.”
  7. Click the OK button that is located to the right of the drop-down box.
  8. Click the arrow in the drop-down box to view the menu.
  9. Click the Upload button. When the upload is complete, the file appears with the other files in the M Drive list.
  10. To upload another file, repeat these steps. Otherwise, click the arrow in the drop-down box to view the menu and then click on “Logout.”
  11. Click the X to close the window.

Deleting Files

  1. To delete a file from your My Drive, locate the file and click the small box to the left of the file name.
  2. A green check mark will appear in the box.
  3. From the drop down box, click on “Delete Selected Items,” and click OK.

(Note: Multiple files can be deleted by checking off several boxes at a time.)

Creating New Folders

  1. Click the arrow in the drop-down box, located in the left-upper corner of the window, to view the menu.
  2. Click on “New folder” from the drop down menu.
  3. Click OK.
  4. The drop down box now allows you to type in the name of the new folder.
  5. Click OK

Renaming Folders/Files

  1. Click the check box to the left of the folders/Files.
  2. A green check mark will appear in the box.
  3. Click on “Rename Selected Items” from the drop down menu located in the upper-left corner of the window.
  4. Click ok.
  5. A text area appears for every item that you selected. The title of each item will be displayed in the boxes. Rename any or all items.
  6. Click OK

Janet Ames is a Business Services Assistant for ITS and has worked at Plymouth State since 1986.   Her major duties are to manage all accounting functions related to all campus copiers and printers and the processing of Institutional Technology Purchases.
