Frequently Asked Questions

All borrowers are encouraged to become familiar with any equipment before using it for the first time. Classroom Technology personnel are available to demonstrate equipment, usually at the ITS Help Desk in Lamson Library and Learning Commons. Demonstrations can also be arranged in other locations.

Procedure for checkout by outside agencies
All equipment checked out by outside agencies will be charged a rental fee that has been established by Classroom Technology Services.

An outside agency is defined as an agency or organization that is not affiliated with Plymouth State University’s scheduled credited courses or official University functions.

PSU academic classes and university related functions have priority use of all equipment. Student groups requesting equipment must be officially recognized by the University and be listed on the Student Activities website.

The Borrower is responsible for any equipment checked-out/rented under his/her name, regardless of who may subsequently use the equipment during that particular check/rental period. Repair or replacement costs of missing or damaged equipment will be assessed to the borrower of record.

On Campus Events
Room reservations for events to be held on the PSU campus must be made through the University Reservationist at (603)-535-2722 prior to scheduling the equipment rental. Classroom Technology staff is available to deliver equipment to on-campus locations and retrieve it again when the function is complete, however a delivery/pickup charge will be added to your reservation. Delivery or pickup options must be arranged at the time the reservation is made. If you require a technician to set up or operate the equipment during your event, arrangements must be made at the time of the reservation and an hourly rate will be charged (see our rental rates).

Off Campus Equipment Use
Limited equipment is available for off-campus use. However when equipment is available, the agency checking out the equipment for use away from the PSU campus is responsible for picking up the equipment and returning the equipment to the ITS Help Desk in Lamson Library and Learning Commons. The borrower or their designee must pick up and return the equipment to the ITS Help Desk in Lamson Library and Learning Commons.

Rental Fee Details
Payment is acceptable in cash or check (made payable to “Plymouth State University – ITS”).  Payment is due in full at time of equipment return.

Our mission being in support of classroom instruction limits the amount of support and equipment we can provide to external groups. Therefore, the dates and times of a rental transaction to external groups may not be adjusted without Classroom Technology Services approval.  Late fees on all equipment for external groups is $10.00 per hour.  Call our office at (603) 535-2929 or e-mail itsmedia@plymouth.edu for equipment advice, availability and reservations. Equipment reservations for functions not related to scheduled credited PSU courses, cannot be taken via the on-line reservation form.
