Crime Alert: Residential Burglaries

As was reported by the Plymouth Police Department in November of 2010, we are again beginning to experience another rise in residential burglaries.

On Monday April 4 2011 two residential homes were burglarized during daylight hours.

In both of these cases, suspects entered unoccupied homes without using force and removed jewelry, cash and electronic devices. It appears that these homes were not locked during the burglary. The homes were located in the Yeaton Road area and on Welch Drive (Off Fairgrounds Road) in Plymouth.

It has been reported that other area police departments are experiencing similar crime trends.

It appears that these perpetrators are targeting/looking for unsecure dwellings to victimize and so therefore may be traveling the area. Residents are encouraged to lock their homes and report suspicious activity to the police department as soon as possible.

If you have any information regarding these crimes please contact Det. Matt McCarthy at 536-1804 ext 141.
