Reporting Crime

police01

Unfortunately, there are times when we become victims of a crime. One thing that causes a real concern for law enforcement is that often times crime is not reported.  This happens because sometimes people do not feel the crime is severe enough to “bother” the police, or that the police will not be able to do anything about it anyway. While it is often true that the crime might not be solved, certainly the chances of it being solved are lessened considerably when the police are not even aware that the crime occurred.

What if you see something suspicious? Should you report it? Of course you should. Don’t worry about being thought of as a nosey neighbor. Often times your neighbors appreciate that you are concerned enough about them to be on the look out for criminal activity. Don’t want to get involved or don’t want your name associated with the report? You do not have to give your name, but you can provide the information by submitting a Silent Witness Form.
