    PSU professor Dr. Marcel Lebrun publishes new book

    NEW HAMPTON — New Hampton author Dr. Marcel Lebrun recently released his newest book titled “True Colors: Gay and Lesbian Families of the 21st Century.”

    True Colors is a journey into the changing world of what it means to be a family in the 21st century. It investigates and describes the challenges of being an alternative, blended, step or a gay family unit in America. It explores the issues of surrogacy, reproductive technology, adoption and bullying.

    The personal stories highlighted within the book give the reader a glimpse into the world of coming out and having children. It speaks of the challenges of being married and/or divorced, all the while being a gay and lesbian adult raising a straight, a transgendered and/or gay child are explored and defined for the reader.

    A comprehensive children’s literature section is suggested to help families navigate the stormy seas of their child asking questions and/or experiencing discrimination, violence and harassment because of having a gay or lesbian parent(s).

    Lebrun is a professor at Plymouth State University. He is an educator with 35 years of experience who has traveled to 77 different countries.

    He has written 10 books, multiple journal articles and presented hundreds of workshops worldwide. He is an expert in the field of special education, emotional and behavior issues in school age children and an advocate for social, civil and human rights issues.
