A group of Plymouth State University alumni have donated $2,000 to this year’s PSU Thanksgiving Basket Project, which has provided food to needy households in the Plymouth area for 40 years. This is the fourth year the non-profit group, 27 Highland Ave., Inc., has donated money to the project, bringing their total contributions to more than $9,000. PSU Thanksgiving Basket Project organizer Kathy Tardif of PSU’s Catholic Campus Ministry said the generous donation will make the Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter.
“We are thrilled this group of alumni have such concern and interest in the community that hosted them when they were in college,” Tardif said. “Thanks to their incredible generosity, we have been able to expand the project to meet the increasing needs of community members in these difficult times.”
27 Highland Ave., Inc. is composed primarily of military veterans. The group also packs and delivers the Thanksgiving baskets. PSU’s United Campus Ministry and PSU’s food service provider Sodexo also sponsor the Thanksgiving Basket project.
