PLYMOUTH — Dozens of Plymouth State University students presented projects April 25 at the Student Showcase of Excellence event celebrating research conducted during the past academic school year.

The event includes nearly 100 projects representing a range of academic disciplines and demonstrating outstanding student scholarship. Students representing more than 16 academic departments display and demonstrate original research in the sciences, arts and humanities. In addition to poster and table displays, there are original music and dance performances.

Thad Gulbrandsen, PSU Vice Provost for Research and Engagement, says the event highlights student research and creative project in the sciences, humanities, social sciences and the arts.

“This event puts a spotlight on student achievement,” Guldbrandsen said. “It creates a community of scholarship and it’s a reflection on a really vital University campus.”

Some of the projects are offered in connection with the National Institute of Health’s IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) grant to increase opportunities for faculty and student research.

Held at the University’s Hartman Union Building, this is the third year PSU has presented the Student Showcase of Excellence.
