The Student Research Advisory Council supports original research and involvement in faculty research projects among students at Plymouth State University. This Council serves as an advisory council for the Vice Provost for Research & Engagement on matters pertaining to student research, the Student Showcase of Excellence, Student Research Grants, and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF).
SRAC Student Research Grants
To support continuing full-time students for expenses related to conference presentation, academic research, exhibits, performances, and other appropriate endeavors, under the mentorship of a faculty member.
Categories of Proposals
Proposals will be evaluated by the review committee in one of two categories: “Student Research Grants” or “Undergraduate Research Fellowship”.
SRAC funds conference presentations, exhibits, performances, or other one-time activities approved by a faculty mentor. Such support can include registration fees, travel, lodging, etc.
Fellowships provide support to carry out a research project or other creative endeavor (service learning proposals should be directed to…). Such support can include travel for collecting data, living expenses, supplies, etc.
The typical summer undergraduate research fellowship stipends will be up to $3,000 for the summer for a full-time 10 week appointment.

Spring proposals are for scholarly activities taking place in April through September, including
