Remaining in Your Current Area

Returning students have several options for housing during the 2014 – 2015 academic year.

Current Residents:

Sign up to keep your current space: Any day between March 24th March 26th, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm and March 26th , 7:00pm – 9:00 pm

So you want to stay in your current room, that’s great. The process is quite simple! You and your prospective roommate(s) must each complete a housing application (available online March 21, 2014) and bring them to the Office of Residential Life in Mary Lyon between Monday, March 24, 2014 and Wednesday, March 26, 2014.  You may sign up to keep your current room and still participate in switching rooms within your current residential area on March 27th, try for a single room on March 31st, and switching to a new residential area on April 9th & 10th.  Simply let the Residential Life staff know of your intentions when you sign up to keep your current space.

In order to guarantee your eligibility to keep your current residence hall room, you must be able to fill the room.  To remain in your current apartment you must be able to fill one bedroom.  To remain in your current Langdon Woods suite, you must have at least 2 people.

Switch rooms within your current residential area:*   March 27th, 8:30am – 8:30pm in the Bradford Room, Centre Lodge.

So you‘d like to remain in the same residential area, but choose a different room. You and your prospective roommate(s) must each complete a housing application and bring them to the Bradford Room in the Centre Lodge on March 27, 2014. This portion of the process is first-come, first-served.  During this time you may make any allowable move within your residential area.  If you do not have enough people in your group to fill a room, you may be required to fill a semi-occupied room.

If you have already chosen to keep your same room, simply come to Bradford Room at the appropriate time.  We already have your application.

Remember, even if you choose a space in your current residential area, you are still eligible to try for a single room or space in a different residential area.  Be sure to let the Residential Life staff know of your intentions when you sign up for the space in your current hall.

Switch from a Langdon Woods double room to a Langdon Woods 4-person suite or 4-person University Apartment:* March 27th, 1:30pm – 8:30pm

Students currently living in a Langdon Woods double room are able to switch to a Langdon Woods 4-person suite or 4-person University Apartment during this phase of the process.  This portion of the process is first-come, first-served.  Please come to the Bradford Room at the appropriate time to switch from a Langdon Woods double room to a 4-person suite or apartment.  Be sure to bring a completed housing application for each person in your group.

If you have already chosen to keep your same room, simply come to the Bradford Room at the appropriate time.  We already have your application.

Remember, even if you choose a space in your current residential area, you are still eligible to try for a single room or space in a different residential area.  Be sure to let the Residential Life staff know of your intentions when you sign up for the space in your current hall.

Location: Bradford Room, Centre Lodge
When: March 27th

*Note
Remember this is to remain in your current residential area. If you are interested in moving to a different residential area, into a single room or private-bedroom apartment, here is the process.  Residents unable to attend on selection day must contact the Office of Residential Life by Wednesday, March 26, 2014 to make arrangements for a room to be selected on their behalf. Housing selection is not a valid reason for missing a class; please plan accordingly.
