Pemi Hall now …

Pemi Hall is now a co-ed residence hall that houses 220 students. It is located on the south end of campus next to the library and Boyd Hall.

The building offers gorgeous views of the mountains, a computer cluster/study area, and a large recreation room with a pool table and TV area.  Recent renovations include new  windows, showers, ventilation, lights and new fire and sprinkler systems.

Pemigewasset Hall also houses “The Q” on the first floor. This all-gender floor is designed to be a supportive space for LGBTQ students and their allies. For more information about LGBTQ resources, please visit the S.A.G.E. Center.

When asked what some of the best things about living in Pemi are, students responded with answers like this:

“Good community, lots of new friends, awesome staff”
“The size of the rooms”
“The activities with the people and CA”
“The convenience of being close to the library”
“Making new friends”
“The rooms are big”
“Our CA is helpful, we are a close knit community”

In the past …

In 1960 the college acquired land where the Pemigewasset Hotel stood. On January 30, 1965, the new residence hall opened to house 225 women. At the time it was constructed it was the tallest building on campus.

The building is named after the river and valley surrounding the town of Plymouth, as well as the “grand hotel” that once resided on that very same spot early in the town’s history.
