Important information you need to know about living in Geneva Smith.
Geneva Smith Hall now …
Geneva Smith is located between Prospect Dining Hall and Hyde Hall (one of the larger academic buildings on campus). Geneva Smith Hall has a large central recreation room with a big screen TV and several recreation tables; a study lounge and comfortable meeting space; a kitchen; laundry facilities; and a large bicycle storage room in the basement. Wireless internet is available throughout the building as well.
Recent improvements to the building include a new fire alarm system, new sprinklers, a new elevator, and new showers.
Most of the rooms in Geneva Smith are designed with a divider that separates the room into two areas. This gives students the opportunity to develop creative ways to live, sleep, and study together.
When asked what some of the best things about living in Geneva Smith are, students responded with answers like this:
“Sense of community”
“Living right in the middle of campus. Very convenient & nice”
“It’s fun and everyone is nice!”
“It’s right next to the dining hall”
“All the friends I’ve made!”

Because enrollment continued to expand at the college, Geneva Smith Hall was completed in January of 1968 as a women’s residence hall. Standing 7 stories tall, it is a twin of Grafton hall.
To honor Geneva “Miss Mathematics” M. Smith’s 42 years of service they named this residence hall after her.
