4.0 DISCUSSION ITEMS
4.01 Process for Student Requests Campbell/Cucina
A student request is a form that a student needs to complete in order to accept a course in lieu of another with the same content. Teacher Preparation students need to have this form signed by Dr. Cucina, who may speak with the teacher to ensure the course is still meeting the state objectives that it was designed for. This system is in place to ensure that your program is meeting NH 610s and 612s. This year a large number of requests came in for Development and Learning. If you notice a lot of requests by students to change for another course, please review your curriculum and drop the course, and specify the ones you want your student to take. If you realize that the course isn’t meeting your needs, please do a curriculum revision of your program. David Zehr will be keeping track of student request. If one is not approved, Irene will meet with advisor if requested

- Review TRAC DAT
- Discuss issues with student teachers
- Go over the initiative of our diversity piece

- Please forward any other items you would like discussed
- How we will maintain a cohesive relationship, while housed under different colleges
4.03 NCATE Site Mardin
http://www.plymouth.edu/accreditation/ncate/
Some of the faculty CV and resume pages on the NCATE website are password protected. As of right now the password is PSU 2011, but we will update you if that changes.
For the diversity framework requirement, Irene uploaded a 26 page document onto the NCATE website. This contains a list of all the courses that were sent to her that pertain to diversity and their key assessments. PLEASE read through this so you are well versed when the BOE comes to campus in March.
Data will be analyzed by level (grad and undergrad) and programs.
We will find out December 1st whether we will need to complete a rejoinder to the original report.
Provost Bernier is very pleased with the work that is being completed.
Irene thanked the council for their fast return of requested information, and for all of Deb Mardin’s hard work.
4.04 Missing Pieces of NHDOE/NCATE Mardin
We are still missing some course syllabi from the NHDOE accreditation website. We need fall 2010 syllabi ASAP as well as all content and required methods syllabi courses all aligned with the standards. Just look at NHDOE to see if you have already submitted them.
Changes and adjustments must be reviewed and updated each summer which will be part of the requirements for the summer stipend money.
4.05 Update on Spring 2011 Student Teachers Vestal
There are 80 student teachers signed up for the Spring 2011 semester and there are only 8 problems. Good advising…thank you!
So far, with Fall 2010 students, there have been three students who have had issues while out in the field. They all are being addressed.
4.06 Timeline for SPA submission Cucina
March 15th is the next submission, however you can submit in September if your program is not yet ready.
If you feel you can’t address the deficiencies listed in the report, please let Irene know.
5.0 OLD BUSINESS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
5.01 Update on NCATE Cucina
Recognition reports have to be submitted by March 15, 2011. Please have all materials set to Irene by Feb 1, 2011. Lynn Johnson is helping to review the rubrics.
Irene is tracking each time she meets with program coordinators to review NCATE requirements, and this is shared with Provost Bernier.
The NCATE review team will be here from March 6-8. Please review everything for your program online prior their arrival. The first night they are here, we will be doing a big poster session in Heritage Commons. This will be the place to showcase your students work. Please let us know in advance what you would need for tables, media hookups, etc.
The BOE will want to meet with representatives from your department to discuss your programs. Please choose honest, candid and forthright candidates.
