Responsibilities of the School Administrator

The student’s resume and professional statement are sent to the school administrator, cooperating teacher and clinical faculty when the student teacher is placed.

Regarding student teachers the School Administrator should:

  • Assume leadership in establishing a climate of acceptance of the student teacher by faculty members and other school staff members.
  • Discuss the school’s policy for acceptable attire while teaching.
  • Assist the student teacher in developing an appropriate professional relationship with faculty, staff, students and the community.
  • Explain school policies.
  • Participate in the observation of the student teacher if requested to do so by the Cooperating Teacher and/or Clinical Faculty.
