Student Outdoor Adventure Recreation (SOAR) Programs

canoesSOAR programs are available to current PSU students only:

Trip Programs are scheduled cooperative adventures connecting human powered/propelled outdoor activities to students and the outdoor environment. Trips are led and instructed by volunteer PSU students who promote a respect for the environment and a love for the outdoors. Trips can be day and/or overnight(s) involving activities such as, rock climbing, paddling, hiking/camping, surfing and biking

Student Orientation Adventure Program (SOAP) - This program kicks off May/June New Student Orientations, providing students a chance to meet other first year and connect with current PSU students.

White Mountain Orientation Trips - This outdoor adventure program offers first year students opportunities to develop relationships with other first year and current PSU students prior to the fall semester start. Participants also gain an awareness of their new outdoor environment surrounding PSU.

New Horizons is a free program for PSU student organizations, athletic teams, and residence halls. Building on the success of Adventure Learning techniques for team building and personal development, New Horizons workshops are designed to promote positive change and development within your student organization. Workshops run from 1 to 2 hours and are led by student facilitators. Workshops do not involve any challenge course elements. You may choose from a selection of workshops or we will design a workshop to meet your group’s needs. New Horizon workshops may be scheduled during one of your existing meeting times or at another convenient time.
