When I was in elementary and middle school I saw a number of TIGER performances and I remember wanting to be a TIGER someday too. When I was offered the opportunity to be a teen TIGER member, I was excited to be able to do what I love (sing, dance and act) and also send an important message to schools across New England. I wanted to impact others like the show has impacted myself.
I have experienced almost all of the experiences that TIGER addresses, especially the issues of trust and friends no longer wanting to hang out. I got through these situations by going and asking for help from my parents and teachers. It is not always easy to ask for help, but my best advice is to not be afraid of talking to a trusted adult because it helps get rid of some cloudy emotions. When you are calm and your mind is clear, it is easier to make the right choices.
The most memorable experience thus far is performing at Kearsarge Middle School. They presented us with t-shirts that say “Bullying? We don’t do that here!”. I could tell that they were serious about stopping bullying and that the kids were excited to listen to our message. The TIGER troupe even got to sit with the students at lunch to talk and sign autographs. It was a great experience all around!
I love all kinds of music… one could say I am crazy when it comes to my tunes. I have music from every genre, organized by different years and styles. The music I listen to depends on my mood; like right now, I am listening to alternative music. Some of my favorites artists include: Greg Laswell, Andrew Belle, Matt Nathanson, Ingrid Michaelson, P!NK, Rihanna, Adele, The Script, Eminem, Lil’ Wayne and more.
I am inspired by life in general. Sometimes a hot day on the beach or a cool afternoon walk in the woods serves as inspiration for artwork or singing or an activity I want to do. Sometimes a good deed or a positive change is an inspiration for what I would like to do later in life. Traveling to another country has been a big inspirtation for my future plans and my college essay.
Ooo that’s a tough one. I would have to say… “Work like you don’t need the money, love like you’ve never been hurt and dance like no one is watching.” – Randall G Leighton
I don’t have favorites… I love everything… these are hard…
TIGER Song: Impact Others
Musical: Les Miserables
Movie: Something Borrowed
Recording Artist: Too hard to choose… sorry!
Actor: Zac Efron… I mean come on? He’s dreamy, like really, he is so good looking. Oh, so is every actor, seriously!!!
Actress: I love Anne Hathaway so much! But again, so many good actresses!
TV Show: I love the following; How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy, and NCIS.
My favorite TIGER is Oprah because she is such a generous person and has an amazing life story. She has accomplished so much in her life and I hope that I can be as successful as her (without all the money though!)
