Athletic Facilities

John C. Foley Gymnasium
Inside the PE Center is John C. Foley Gymnasium, home of Plymouth State women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and wrestling teams. The spacious 2000-seat gymnasium has electronic scoreboards at both ends, and two elevated press boxes, including accommodations for a television crew for live broadcasts. Foley Gym hosts the NHIAA Class M and S Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Tournament and the Class M and S Volleyball Championships. Foley Gym is also used for many other university and community assemblies, such as convocation, high school concerts and graduations, etc.

The facility is named after one of the legendary figures at Plymouth State. John C. Foley enjoyed a career that spanned 30 years, including roles as an English professor, university basketball and baseball coach, chair of the Athletic Department and dean of instruction, before moving on to become dean of the College. The Conning Tower, PSU's yearbook, was dedicated to Foley three times. In 1981, he was voted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Saint Anselm, his alma mater. An inspiring teacher and influential coach, Foley retired from PSU in 1977-78.
