Professional Information

Steve joined the PSU leadership team in the summer of 2008 after 20 years experience in higher education, most recently as a Vice Chancellor at Indiana University Southeast. A native New Englander, he grew up in Enfield, Conn., earned his bachelor's degree at Central Connecticut State University, his Master of Education degree at Northeastern University, and an M.B.A. at Providence College. Steve is responsible for financial operations and reporting, budget, Informational Technology, Physical Plant and capital planning, and other administrative functions of the institution.

Steve is an active member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Society of College and University Planners. He has been active in community affairs in Indiana and plans to continue that involvement in his new community. "Plymouth State University aligns very well with my core values as a person and professional," Taksar said. "It is my hope and belief that I will make a positive difference, not only at Plymouth State, but within the local community. The future looks very bright for Plymouth and I am excited to be a part of the leadership team to help achieve its highest dreams and aspirations."

Steve enjoys cycling and other sports. He lives in Plymouth with his two sons and wife, Laure Morris, who is a professional in the field of development.
