Professional Information

Dick Hage earned B.S. and M.S. degrees at SUNY Albany and came to PSU in 1975 from Keene State College . Dick grew up on a working dairy farm in upstate New York and says he is “Blessed with loving immigrant parents from Lebanon, three great brothers, a loving wife and two fabulous daughters.”

His work mission is to help students become critical thinkers, ethical decision makers, contributing members of society and models of healthy living. In 2006, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) awarded Dick the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance as a Dean or Vice President.  This award recognizes demonstrated, sustained professional service in student affairs work, high-level competency in administrative skills, innovative response in meeting students’ varied and emerging needs, effectiveness in developing junior staff members, and leadership in community and university affairs; as well as the support of students, faculty and fellow administrators on campus and contributions to the field through publications o professional involvement.

He said, “I get great joy from working with our students and my colleagues.  I can’t imagine a better community or more rewarding environment to live and work in.”
