Lee Mason '65
Lee Mason lives in Northwood, NH with his wife Charlotte. Lee is a graduate of Plymouth State University, where he received his Bachelor of education degree in 1965.
While attending Plymouth, Lee says he many a great experience. However, one of his fondest memories was living with seven other men above the Laundromat behind Blair Hall. At this time, the campus did not recognize sororities and fraternities, and so his residence was quite cleverly deemed ‘Tappa Nu Keg’ [TNK]. He says that the Beatles and songs like “The Peppermint Twist” remind him of his time spent at school, primarily due to their popularity at the time.
Beyond Plymouth, Lee maintained a connection with the education system and worked in four different school systems. Amidst thirty-six years he was employed as Principal at the Hooksett Elementary Schools for sixteen years, Principal of Barrington Middle School for eight years, Headmaster of Northwood Coe-Brown Academy, and taught and coached for three years before becoming Assistant Principal of Raymond High School in New Hampshire for five. Lee has also volunteered himself to various boards including Alumni Board of Directors at PSU, the Board of Directors to the Plymouth Seacoast Chapter, as well being Vice President to the Coe-Brown Northwood Academy Board of Trustees.
Lee states that if he had life to live over, he wouldn’t change a thing. He has a wonderful family with three healthy children (two of whom will be graduates of Plymouth State, with his son graduating this year), and three healthy grandchildren whom he adores. When asked if he had any wishes for the future he replied “Nothing more than good health and good friends, that’s all you can really ask for.”
