
The Physical Education major focuses on the study of human movement using scientific and social foundations. The study of Physical Education develops a scientific understanding of human movement and the skills to apply theoretical concepts into practical settings. Students enrolled in the Physical Education major are required to choose at least one of four options: Physical Education Teacher Certification (K-12), Physical Education and Health Education Teacher Certification (K-12), Applied Health Fitness, and Sport Physiology. Each option provides coursework allowing preparation in a specialized career area.
Graduates of the Physical Education major go on to work in public and private schools, the fitness industry, allied health clinics, recreation and athletic programs and rehabilitation settings. Others pursue further study at the graduate level.
