The Pemigewasset Choral Society

The Pemigewasset Choral Society is a large performing ensemble open to all students and regional community members. No audition is required, but participants need to have a love of singing and the ability to match pitch. The choir rehearses one evening each week during fall and spring semesters. A series of three concerts is given in December and May. A wide variety of appropriate choral literature is studied and performed, including various periods, styles, languages, and both accompanied and a cappella selections.

The Pemi Choral Society is more than 30 years old and has toured in Canada and Great Britain, performed on international short wave radio, and recorded videotapes of hymns for television broadcast. Members from surrounding communities travel a total of more than 4,000 miles per week to attend rehearsals.

The course may be taken for college credit. Permission of the instructor is required and openings, particularly for sopranos and altos, are limited.
