Where can I find out information about new student orientation?
The Hartman Union Building's orientation web page should give you all of the information you need.
What is FERPA?
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law regarding education records. Additional information about the law and how it affects you is available on the U.S. Department of Education FERPA FAQ.
My child is a financial dependent. How can I gain access to his/her account information at PSU?
Currently, there is no way for a parent/guardian to gain direct access to his/her student's online bill. The student is responsible for sharing his/her billing information with necessary parties helping him/her pay for it. There are a couple of ways, however, for parents/guardians to stay in the financial loop.
- A student may give permission to the Bursar's Office to discuss the details of his/her bill with whomever he/she likes by completing and submitting this Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Authorization (PDF).
- A student may giver permission to the Bursar's Office and Financial Aid Office to include others in general communications we send about financial aid and/or the tuition bill by adding a "parent" e-mail to their myPlymouth profile using these steps:
- Log into myPlymouth.
- Click the "Student Services" tab.
- Select "Personal Information".
- Select "Your Email Address".
- In the box next to "Type of Email Address to Insert", select "Parent".
- Click "Submit".
- Type in the space provided the parent email address to be added.
- Click "Submit".
Note: Please be sure that the email address being added is set up to accept messages sent by "bursar@plymouth.edu" and "finaid@plymouth.edu". Failure to do so may cause our email messages to be rejected by your spam filter.
How do I sign up for email alerts from the Financial Aid Office regarding my student’s account?
Parents will automatically receive emails from the Financial Aid Team if they have provided the parent email address on the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA).
What rights does my student have at PSU?
Your student’s rights are outlined in the student life handbook (see the section titled "Rights of Students".
Where can I find information about scholarships which are available?
PSU has many different scholarships for students of all abilities. The Financial Aid Office provides an extensive list on their web site.
How do I send my student a cake, a pizza party, or more Flex Cash?
Dining Services has many great ideas to send your student. You can find out more information and order them online.
How do we find out the schedule for room assignments?
Information about room assignments is available on the Residential Life web site.
How can I help my student get social, emotional, and/or psychological support?
The Counseling and Human Relations Center is a great resource and they offer services are offered free of charge to all Plymouth State University undergraduate and graduate students. Visit the Counseling Center's web site for more information.
Who helps my student understand degree requirements for graduation?
Academic advising is an important part of Plymouth State University's commitment to the process of educating the student. The Undergraduate Advising Office is available to assist your student understand degree requirements.
What If My Student Hasn’t Declared A Major?
The College of University Studies is a developmental advising program for first year students who are admitted to Plymouth State University without declaring a major or degree option. The program was designed to help students graduate in four years, and offers programs and advising intended to help member students find the right academic major.
How can I help PSU grow and excel?
