The building is located next to Prospect dining hall and across from Speare Hall. It has the same look as its neighboring residence hall, Smith Hall.
Grafton is equipped with a large recreation room that features a pool table, ping pong table, and air hockey table, as well as a TV area. Grafton also features a spacious study lounge with a computer cluster. Wireless internet is available in Grafton's common areas as well.
Most of the rooms in Grafton have a divider which allows for students to have separate study and sleep areas. Recent renovations include a new elevator and sprinkler and fire alarm systems. The showers and heating system were revovated in the summer of 2007.
When asked what some of the best things about living in Grafton are, students responded like this:
“It’s a community”
“The activities and the CA’s”
“Friends you make”
“Casino night”
“It is pretty close to everywhere I need to be”
Because enrollment continued to expand at the college, Grafton Hall was built in 1967. It opened to house 200 men, and was named after the county in which Plymouth lies. Grafton stands 7 stories tall, and because of its height it affords beautiful views of the campus and the mountains.
