Important policies regarding transfer credit. Please take a couple of minutes to read these. These policies dictate what may and may not be transferred and how transfer credits impact your PSU record.
Transfer course database
Available on the PSU web site is a transfer course database (T-Course) that shows which courses from other colleges/universities have been reviewed for transfer to PSU, and indicates the PSU course equivalent for those transfer credits. T-Course does not include all courses from all colleges/universities.
If a course appears in the database as having transferred in and applied in the way a student wishes to apply it, the Transfer Credit Approval form merely provides a way to link the incoming transcript to the student's request. The form and an official transcript are required.
In the event a course has never been transferred to PSU, or in the way a student desires, the Transfer Credit Approval form provides an opportunity for that course to be reviewed and evaluated by PSU. A copy of the catalog course description must accompany the Transfer Credit Approval form when submitted to Undergraduate Studies for review and approval.
Transferring credits to PSU
PSU students who wish to transfer credits from another institution must submit to the Undergraduate Studies (UGS) office for approval, one completed Transfer Credit Approval Form (PDF) per course.
Transfer Credit Approval requests should be submitted prior to students taking transfer courses. The shaded areas of the form should be completed and the necessary course descriptions attached; only transfer courses graded with 'C' or better may be considered for transfer credit; students bare sole responsible for arranging delivery of official transcripts to Undergraduate Studies. Transfer Credit Approval forms are available directly from Undergraduate Studies, or as a PDF file (see above link).
The applicability of transfer credits to a student's major is determined by the department sponsoring the major.
Students being admitted to PSU are not required to submit Transfer Credit Approval forms because evaluation of their transfer credit is part of the admissions process.
