8-31-2007
- ALL Residence Hall laundry facilities are now on line accepting FLEXCASH.
7-19-2007
- ALL vending machines on campus are now on line accepting FLEXCASH.
- Blair, Belknap, Smith, Langdon Woods, WMAC 141, and Non-Traditional Student Apartments laundry rooms are up and running and accepting FLEXCASH.
- New signs describing the process for using the new system in the laundry rooms will be in place soon. In the meantime users should follow the prompts on the laundry controller display regarding operation.
7-13-2007
- The cash value stations in the HUB and Center Lodge are working. These stations allow anyone with a valid PSU ID or a generic 'FLEXCASH card' to add money to their Campus FLEXCASH account.
- Approximately 25 of the vending machines on campus now accept FLEXCASH. The remainder of the vending machines will accept FLEXCASH by the time students return for the fall semester.
- Belknap, Smith, and Langdon Woods laundry rooms are up and running. These machines now use FLEXCASH. All remaining laundry rooms will get changed over to the new system in the next few weeks.
- Summer residents that are not PSU students (Music Festival, Pakistani Group, general summer visitors) do not possess valid PSU IDs. This prevents them from doing laundry. Generic 'FLEXCASH Cards' will be issued to specific group coordinators very soon. Money can be added to these cards via the new cash value stations allowing their use in laundry and vending machines. Please realize that any old generic cards that were used by the old Debitek system will not work on the new system. Individuals with money encoded on the old cards can stop by the Sodexo administrative offices in Prospect Hall to have any remaining funds transferred to the new system / card.
The issuance of these cards is a short-term solution for this summer. The 'cash value stations' have the ability to dispense / sell generic cards and will be configured to do so well in advance of next summer.
- Campus copying will accept Campus FLEXCASH sometime during the fall semester, and the bookstore will probably accept it some time during the spring semester.
Important points from 4-9-2007 announcement
- Following the close of the spring semester the campus began a process of phasing out the existing campus Debitek / Cash-To-Card system. This is the system that allowed the campus community to place funds on the debit stripe of their ID Cards for use in vending machines, laundry equipment, and select copiers on campus.
- Please be aware that all campus vending and copy machines will continue to take cash / coin during this process.
- For those individuals who don't have a chance to use up their funds before the system is finally retired, there will be an opportunity during the month of September to convert any remaining Debitek funds over to FLEXCASH.
Read our Hints and Guidelines for using the new FLEXCASH system.
