When does the meal plan begin and end?
The first meal served will be breakfast on Monday, January 4, 2010 and the last meal served will be dinner on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
What meal plans are being offered?
Four meal plan options are being offered during Winterim. If you live on campus you may sign up for housing and select a 16 block plan, a
24 block plan with $50 FlexCash, a 36 block plan or a $159 FlexCash only plan. The cost of these plans with housing is $198, $278, $278
and $278 respectively. Please note that all Winterim BOARD FlexCash expires at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, January 27.
I live off campus but want to purchase a winterim meal plan. What should I do?
You need to complete a
Winterim meals-only application. You may print this form from this website or pick up a copy at Residential Life, Centre Lodge or the Bursar’s office. Return this form with your payment to the Bursar’s Office. The cost for a meal plan without housing is:
- 16 block plan: $79
- 24 block plan + $50 FlexCash: $159
- 36 block plan: $159
- $159 FlexCash: $159

ALL MEALS ARE MONDAY – FRIDAY ONLY AND ARE SERVED IN THE HUB SNACK BAR.
Do I need to have a meal plan?
First and second-year students living in a residence hall must purchase a meal plan during Winterim. Third and fourth-year students and anyone living in one of the apartment areas are not required to be on a meal plan but may choose to purchase one.
Where can I get a winterim housing or meals-only application?
Applications may be printed from this website or picked up at the Residential Life Office, the Bursar’s Office or the Centre Lodge Office.
How much does it cost to live on campus during Winterim?
On campus housing for Winterim will cost $119.
I live in a residence hall. What do I need to do to live in my room during winterim?
Complete a Winterim housing application and return it to the Bursar’s office with your full payment by December 11, 2009. Any application received after this date will be assessed a $25.00 administrative fee. If you have completed this process you will need to schedule a check out time with your CA and turn in your keys at that time. You will check back in for Winterim at your residence hall between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2010. If you are checking in after January 3, you will pick up your keys at the Residential Life Office (located on the lower level of Mary Lyon Hall). The office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Note the office is closed on Monday, January 18, 2010.
I live in the apartments or Eco House (1 High Street). What do I need to do to live in my apartment during Winterim?
Complete a Winterim housing application and return it to the Bursar’s office with your full payment by December 11, 2009. Any application received after this date will be assessed a $25.00 administrative fee. If you have completed this process you do not need to check out of your apartment after finals. Since you are eligible to stay in your apartment from December 18, 2009 through January 31, 2010 you will keep your key and return to your apartment when you want without the need to check in.
I am an athlete who needs to be here with my team during winterim. What do I need to do?
Your coach will have a special Winterim application which you will need to fill out. If you live in a residence hall you may be asked to keep your keys depending on your date of return. Please see your Residence Director/Manager for specific details. Please note that even if you keep your keys you need to schedule a check out time with your CA. Apartment residents who complete an athlete Winterim application will keep their keys and do not need to check out.
I want to return to campus before January 3, 2010. What should I do?
Apartment residents with Winterim housing applications on file will keep their keys at the end of finals week and may return to their apartment at any time. Residence hall students should speak to their Residence Director / Manager to discuss their individual circumstances. Typically students are not allowed to stay in their rooms between fall and Winterim semesters.
I didn’t make arrangements to stay on campus before I left at the end of fall semester. What do I do?
You must wait until January 4 to return to campus. Bring your completed Winterim housing application and payment to the Bursar’s office. Once you have paid in full, the Bursar will give you a release form. Bring this form to the Residential Life office M-F between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The staff there will work with you to get your room keys.
I am working right through the holiday break. Can I stay in my on-campus housing?
Apartment residents with Winterim applications on file may stay in their apartments from the end of finals week through the end of Winterim.
Residence hall students should speak to their Residence Director / Manager to discuss their individual circumstances. Typically students are not allowed to stay in their rooms between fall and Winterim semesters.

You must return your application to the Bursar’s office with your payment by December 11, 2009 to avoid being assessed the $25.00 administrative fee.
Do I need to pay for winterim right away or will I be billed?
You must pay for Winterim housing and meals at the time of application. Bills are considered paid if they are paid in full by an out-of-pocket payment (cash, check or credit card) or if your balance will be covered by approved (certified) financial aid. Please note that a pre-approved loan is not sufficient for considering a bill paid on the due date. If you are depending on loans to pay your bill, you must file your application(s) early and communicate often with the financial aid office.

Can I live on campus if I’m not taking a winterim class?
Winterim housing is ONLY available to students who were living on campus during the fall 2009 semester. In addition, if you are not taking a Winterim class you must be signed up to live on campus for the spring 2010 semester.
I lived on-campus for winterim. Do I need to check in with the Residential Life staff for spring 2010?
Yes. All on-campus students are required to check in with the appropriate Residential Life staff at the beginning of each semester. Failure to check in may result in your being declared a no-show. As a result you may be dropped form your classes and withdrawn from Plymouth State University.
