Frank Cocchiarella - Director
Frank (hometown St. Paul Minn) has worked at PSU since August of 1987. Frank has been active in campus and community activities since his arrival. Enjoys a variety of activities from snowshoeing to chess.
I am originally from Minnesota and that may have something to do with why I like winters or it could be the lack of bugs and heat. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with the family. I am an optimist who loves to get up early and get excited about the day ahead.
I have been at PSU since August 1977. Like many others, I started here as a "Dormitory Supervisor" and planned on being here for 2 years. But opportunities opened up here and here I am!
I am originally from Fairfield, CT but now consider Plymouth my home. I built a house not far from campus and have a little black Lhasa Apsos named Teddy Bear. I used to like outdoor activities in the winter but am more apt to like reading in front of the fireplace now.
I was born in Nebraska, and have lived in Hawaii, Ohio and then New Hampshire. I grew up in Milford New Hampshire. My hobbies include gardening, hiking, reading, carpentry and family time.
PSU has been a large part of my life. I got my undergraduate degree here then left for grad school in Ohio. I returned in 1992 to take a Residence Director position. It was a great fit for me. As time moved on, I changed positions a few times, and am now the Information Technology Manager. I met my wife here, and have 2 wonderful children.
I grew up in New Hampshire and have worked at PSU for 29 years, the majority of this time in Residential Life. My hobbies include participating in outdoor activities such as alpine and cross country skiing, running, snowshoeing, hiking etc. I also love to camp and travel in Northwestern US.
My husband and I have raised our two sons in Plymouth and have also built two homes in this area. The Plymouth area is the perfect place to live and pursue my interests.
I am originally from Duxbury, MA and have lived in Campton since 1974 upon my graduation from the University of Southern Maine where I earned a BA degree in Kindergarten-Primary education. I joined the Residential Life team at Plymouth State in August of 1988.
My hobbies outside of work include scrap booking, reading, gardening and traveling. I am an avid sports fan, especially college basketball, and am very involved in local sports programs and community activities. This past February I was able to see one of my dreams come true by attending a Duke University basketball game at Cameron Stadium! Go, Blue Devils!!
I enjoy working at PSU because the University really cares about the students and their success. Working at Res Life is very rewarding as it is like a puzzle; trying to fit several different pieces together to come up with a final product. The students at Plymouth State keep me young at heart!
I have worked at Plymouth since 1986. My intention was to be in Plymouth for 2 years, obtain my Master’s degree and move back to Boston. Like so many other people, I fell in love with Plymouth State and the people who work here. I can’t think of a better place to live. Every day when I look around at the mountains and lakes I think about how lucky I am to live here. After all these years, I still enjoy coming to work in the morning.
The people I work with are a huge part of my happiness. The residential life staff members are some of the most dedicated, caring people I have ever met. They truly care about students. What’s not to like about working with people like that?
Away from work, I enjoy camping, working around our house and spending time with my partner Ransey and our dog Chelsea.
I am a New Hampshire native, and though I love to travel I am happy to call NH home. Plymouth is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. The only thing we don’t have is enough time to explore it all!
I am married to my best friend Holly. She is a Montessori Teacher specializing in Peace Education. Thankfully, she loves to play outside as much as I do. Together we enjoy the great outdoors including hiking, running, x-country skiing, snowboarding , biking , and much more.
Our true passion is surfing (yeah, we surf on the East coast) and where ever we may go next will certainly be close to a beach. For now, we travel just under 2 hours to surf, but it’s worth it! We also love to read, play guitar, and get up early to make the most of every day.
I began working on the paint crew in 2001. In the summer of 2005 I became the facilities manager for the department and I am looking forward to the upcoming changes on our campus. I am glad to be part of a department that truly promotes the health and well being of its members on all levels.
After my work day is done I am off doing a variety of activities like hiking, biking, climbing, or sailing. I am in love with the outdoors, and find a way to take advantage of this beautiful area any way I can, especially during the winter months. I truly believe there is no such thing as a winter with too much snow and I spend any spare moment I have snowshoeing or skiing in the back country.
Live well, love life, and laugh often are words I live by and since I began calling this place home I have found ways to do all of these.
I am originally from Northeast Missouri and have been in Plymouth since October 2006. When not working I like to play Disc Golf, Basketball, Volleyball, Racquetball and many board games. I also play the guitar and when possible get outside and enjoy the beautiful landscape that is New Hampshire.
