Student Internship Application

The mission of the Center for Rural Partnerships is to facilitate Plymouth State University's instructional, research and service capacity so as to directly benefit rural people in New Hampshire, New England and the United States. The Center will, in collaboration with other organizations, assist and support rural policy analysis, development and implementation. There are many ways for students to be involved in this work through internships (paid and unpaid, independent studies, thesis work and as hourly labor). Priority consideration will be given to students whose interests match the Center's institutional goals:

  • Promote rural New Hampshire attributes as positive quality-of-life characteristics important to be preserved and enhanced for the entire state
  • Be a voice for rural opportunities, concerns and aspirations across the state
  • Enhance the connections between natural resource stewardship, economic well-being, workforce development and the resources of higher educational institutions in rural areas of the state
  • Proactively promote PSU's outreach scholarship to rural communities and organizations

Students who work with the Center for Rural Partnerships can expect to gain valuable hands-on experiences working on projects that have a positive impact on the quality of life in New Hampshire. In the course of their work, students will build marketable skills and form meaningful professional relationships that will enhance their educational and career development goals.
