Center for Rural Partnerships Rural Perspective Research
The Center for Rural Partnerships serves community leaders and organizations in New Hampshire by providing easily accessible summaries of scholarly research and lessons learned in other regions. Working in collaboration with PSU librarians, faculty and staff, the Rural Center serves the state as a convenient source of useful information. The Center will also undertake an intensive strategic research project in Coos County to identify and build on the strengths of the region to promote a greater community and economic well-being.

Cultural Landscape Preservation and Outreach
The Center for Rural Partnerships helps communities build on their strengths to promote greater quality of life and economic viability. Some examples of our work:

  • Assisting the Alton Historical Society in their effort to preserve a historic building and create a museum devoted to understanding transportation, land use and the history of the economy and cultural landscape in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
  • Helping community leaders, including planning boards, learn from success stories and best practices to help promote better working landscapes in their own communities.
