Child Welfare Scholarship Guidelines
Application Procedure
To apply for the scholarship, students must submit an application form (PDF), a written application and three letters of support. Students selected as finalists will participate in interviews with faculty and DCYF personnel.
Written Application (30 points)
Students must submit a three to four page paper that addresses the following:
- Previous volunteer or employment experiences working with children and families
- Reasons for interest in working with children and families in a child protection agency (abuse and neglect screening, foster care services, adoption, other child welfare services)
- Qualities and/or skills that make her/him deserving of the scholarship.
Support Letters (30 points)
Students must submit three letters of support. These references should address the applicant’s experiences and qualities that make her/him deserving of the scholarship.
Interview (40 points)
The Selection Committee, which will include representatives from the Social Work faculty and the New Hampshire DHHS, will choose finalists for interviewing.
