About Professor Meyer
Dr. Meyer is the Field Education director of the B.S.W. program. He has a master’s degree in social work (M.S.W.) from Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y., and a Ph.D. in sociology with specializations in medical sociology, mental health and organizational behavior from Boston University in Boston, Mass. His doctoral research was on the impact of stress and professional burnout on human service employees.
He continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors, New Hampshire Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Dr. Meyer is engaged in clinical practice, clinical supervision and consultation with a variety of health, mental health, child welfare, hospice and educational organizations. His consultation specialties include program evaluation, staff training, organizational development and team building. Dr. Meyer has spoken widely on rural and clinical practice, stress management, and promoting peace studies at local, regional, and national conferences. He is the grant-funded Program Evaluation Director for several after school programs.
