PSU Student Handbook: Telephone Service (Telecommunications)

Phones are not provided in the residence halls, so students will need to have at least one roommate bring a touch-tone phone and modular cord to attach to the phone jack. Any FCC registered phone is allowed.

BASIC TELEPHONE SERVICE

All students living in campus housing receive Basic Telephone Service (paid for through their housing fee) that includes:

  • Ability to call on campus and locally within the Town of Plymouth and the surrounding area.

  • PSU operator assistance

  • Voice mail

  • Call waiting

  • Caller ID (only in the White Mountain Apartments)

There is no installation charge, deposit required, extra fees or monthly service charges for the Basic Services.

LONG DISTANCE SERVICE

When students begin at PSU they receive a Personal Billing Number (PBN) and long distance account that is used for their long distance calls (from on or off campus) while attending PSU. There is no extra charge for this number and only the long distance calls are billed to the student's account.

Students should report lost or stolen PBN's to the Telecom office immediately.
