Title

Horseback Rider at Echo Lake...2012

Description

The inspiration for this image was from a painting featured in the MWM's opening exhibition, Passing Through: The Allure of the White Mountains. The painting is:

Horseback Rider at Echo Lake, Edward Hill, 1879, Oil on canvas, 16 x 12 inches, Private collection

If you visit the museum, you may find the painting in the "Franconia Notch" section in the exhibition. This photograph was taken about a mile up the Greenleaf trail which leaves from the Cannon Mtn. parking lot in Franconia Notch. The trees are in the way, but you can see Echo Lake in the middle with a flank of Cannon Mtn. coming down from the left.
