Title
Mount Washington Vista...2012
Description
The inspiration for this image was from a painting featured in the MWM's opening exhibition, Passing Through: The Allure of the White Mountains. The painting is:
Mount Washington Vista, Samuel L. Gerry, 1858, Oil on canvas, 20 x 30 inches, Private collection
If you visit the museum, you may find the painting in the "Conway Valley" section in the exhibition. This was taken from West Side Road looking to the north. The painting was probably done closer down along the river but you can no longer see the mountains down at that level because of the forests that were farmland when the painting was done.
