Terms and Conditions

You are contributing to the Museum of the White Mountains’ (MWM) online, user-generated, digital repository, The Cairn.  For answers to questions you may have about how to contribute to The Cairn, please visit our FAQ page.

Photographs, moving picture, sounds, and text are the types of entries which may be added to the repository. Please know that the following are not permitted in any contribution:

Intolerance- Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish The Cairn community as whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another person’s race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed and shouldn’t enter into an honest exchange of ideas.

Spam- Comments must be relevant to the page they appear on and contribute meaningfully to the community. Automatic filtering mechanisms are used to block spam; messages that have the appearance of spam will be deleted at the discretion of the site administrators.

Contributors are responsible, in good faith, for identifying the correct, original creator and associated meta-data of content, and must only contribute content with the original creator’s consent. Content will be published on the The Cairn website with the contributor’s name. Submitted material must not violate any confidentiality, privacy, security or other laws.

Contributing to The Cairn constitutes contributor’s permission for, and consent to, the dissemination and use of your contribution in connection with the The Cairn in all media, in perpetuity. By contributing to The Cairn, contributors release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless The Cairn and persons acting under its permission or authority, from any claims or liability arising out the The Cairn’s use of the material, including, without limitation, claims for violation of privacy, defamation, or misrepresentation.

New content must be approved by a site administrator before it appears. MWM reserves the right to edit or delete comments, and is not under any obligation to use contributed material on The Cairn. Contributors will be sent a link via email of their content on The Cairn. Any contributions to The Cairn cannot be returned to the contributor.
