Student Outdoor Adventure Recreation (SOAR) Programs

SOAR programs are available to current PSU students only:

Trip Programs are scheduled cooperative adventures connecting human powered/propelled outdoor activities to students and the outdoor environment. Trips are led and instructed by volunteer PSU students who promote a respect for the environment and a love for the outdoors. Trips can be day and/or overnight(s) involving activities such as, rock climbing, paddling, hiking/camping, surfing and biking

New Horizons is a FREE program designed to serve PSU student organizations, athletic teams, and residence halls. These workshops are designed to promote positive change and development within organizations. Programs do not involve low or high elements on the challenge course and run between 1-2 hours. Programs are led by student facilitators. You can choose from programs listed below or you can request that a custom program be designed to meet the needs of your group. New Horizon programs can be scheduled during one of your existing meeting times or at another scheduled time.

Student Orientation Adventure Program (SOAP) - This opportunity kicks off June New Student Orientations, providing students a chance to meet other first year and current PSU students prior to the start of New Student Orientation.

White Mountain Orientation - This outdoor adventure program offers first year students opportunities to develop relationships with other first year and current PSU students prior to the fall semester start. Participants also gain an awareness of their new outdoor environment surrounding PSU. Students stay at PSU’s Loon Lake Cabin. Hurry, enrollment is limited to 8 students!
