Summer 2013 schedule, now available!
Consider spending a day, a few days, or more learning with others like yourself who want to explore the physical and intellectual opportunities of northern New Hampshire in the lovely setting of the Plymouth State University campus.
Camp PSU is an exciting new program for community members, including families, seasonal residents, alumni, and Friends of PSU. Days will be filled with learning and activities: enjoy discussions about the history and art of the region, learn a bit about nature photography or get in touch with your inner author, enjoy guided excursions along the Pemigewasset River or the summit of Cannon Mountain for a science exploration, and more!
Our programs are designed for enthusiastic learners who would just like to “know more”. Interactions with our PSU faculty instructors will be engaging and deeply informative, in a dynamic but informal atmosphere. Sessions are held on Fridays throughout the summer.
You will find an opportunity that is perfect for you and your family!
Although each program is a bit different to accommodate a diversity of topics, a sample day at Camp PSU might look something like this:
9:00 am—Meet at the Savage Welcome Center (see below for map and directions)
Campus Orientation by Welcome Center staff
Coffee and light refreshments
Mini-tour with a PSU staff, student, or alumni guide while walking to your first destination on campus
10:00 am—Meet your instructor and learn the basics of your program topic in a classroom setting.
Noon—Lunch and depart for afternoon field session. (Lunch may be in the classroom, en route, or out in the field.)
12:30 pm—Field component
3:30-4:00 pm—Return to Welcome Center.
