For Undergraduate

White Mountains Directions

The White Mountains Institute, the Center for Rural Partnerships, and the Rural Studies Council are pleased to introduce the White Mountains Directions Courses, an intensive, field-based, multidisciplinary academic opportunity for undergraduate students, members of the public, and advanced high school students. Each year, the White Mountains Directions addresses a specific topic of importance to the White Mountain region across two sessions – one session held during Plymouth State’s “winterim” term (January) and one session held over the summer. The capstone will be a multi-day field experience in the White Mountains region where students can apply their coursework in the spectacular outdoor laboratory that the region represents. In all, the White Mountains Directions provides a rich and holistic academic program that will foster intellectual and social growth, and prepare students to be productive citizens of the region and the world.
